42

Forty-Two [fawr-tee-too] noun // adjective

That feeling of being present if only for a second. A mental collision that sends chills to the surface of the skin. The perspective of the universe echoing in the canyons of life. The happiness that levels me.

42 is not only a number to me – it is a feeling, an object, a connection. I live a visually digestive lifestyle consistently capturing and organizing images that shape who I am and where I am going. These images create order, a database of sorts, that allows me to manipulate this information to make the world a better place.

So, what does this mean…42 is my constant. It is the image, emotion and object that repeats itself. Sometimes daring me, other times igniting me and most often comforting me.

RIGOR // ENERGY // PURPOSE

Three words best reflect my journey through life as a person, teammate, teacher, and learner - Rigor // Energy // Purpose. These have been the guiding values of my personal and professional career - pushing me to challenge myself while also keeping me grounded as I dream to the future.

*

rig·or (noun): the quality of being extremely thorough, exhaustive, or accurate.

The ability to work at a detailed level while being focused on the big picture has always been my mode of operation. Understanding where one is going is only as good as having an awareness of how one will get there. I believe that bringing rigor to my process has allowed me the freedom to design, iterate and create at will.

*

en·er·gy (noun): the property of matter and radiation which is manifested as a capacity to perform work.

Life is about feelings, emotions, experiences, laughs and tears. My life is most influenced by the energy in which we all exist. I believe that we have the ability to connect at levels beyond technology, a marker, or a  sketch in order to create a better world. This awareness allows one to respond and react to situations more fully, from reading a challenging situation in a meeting to comforting a discouraged teammate.

*

pur·pose (noun): a person’s sense of resolve or determination.

Act only with purpose. I attempt to make each moment of my day intentional and purposeful, not as a restrictive measure of action but rather acting with conviction. Making decisions and actions more purposeful creates not only a path that is justified but also shows investment.
